Awakening Curiosity. Exploring Nature. Creating Connection.
Let’s Work Together to Get All Students LEARNING OUTSIDE!
Camp Ocean Pines provides 3, 4 and 5-day residential outdoor education/science camp programs for schools. We offer a variety of hands-on marine biology, forest ecology, watershed science and teambuilding programs.
Why Science Camp?
Meaningful learning is best achieved through hands-on experiences. We believe that time spent outside in nature is crucial to the development of youth. Science Camp provides this.
We are teaching a generation bound by desks, screens and standards. The importance of connection to nature and exploring outside is being overlooked. Bring your students to Camp Ocean Pines and awaken their curiosity and create deep connections through hands-on nature exploration!
Why Camp Ocean Pines?
Within the forest on the ocean’s edge, Camp Ocean Pines is the perfect place for discovery.
Questions are born from new experiences. At Camp Ocean Pines, students will have new experiences in the forest, at the ocean and through up close animal encounters!
- AWAKENING CURIOSITY: Curiosity is the foundation of science. It is powerful. With it, students are motivated to ask questions, conduct research and form conclusions. The problem – awakening curiosity requires time and space. At Camp Ocean Pines, students are given time to observe and wonder while trying NEW THINGS in NEW PLACES!
- EXPLORING NATURE: Exploration leads to questions. Questions lead to experiments. Experiments lead to answers that connect the dots! At Camp Ocean Pines students are encouraged to ask questions, discover answers and gain the confidence to get out and EXPLORE! Listen, look, smell, taste and touch – Students will use all of their sense to learn about themselves and the world around us.
- CREATING CONNECTIONS: The result of curiosity and exploration is connections – connections to the natural world and to other people! Time spent in special places sparks the learning process like nothing else. At Camp Ocean Pines we utilize teambuilding and low ropes challenges throughout our programs. These activities connect students through accomplishment. When students are connected, they are empowered and reaching towards their full potential.
