"A full childhood is a gift.  It is our privilege to lead children in fun experiences in a traditional overnight co-ed summer camp.  Filled with laughter, Camp Ocean Pines is a place where campers strive for success, truly connect with nature, and share an emotional experience beyond their own imagination.  In our forest full of wildlife, overlooking the majestic sea, we partner with parents to provide skill-building activities and fun adventures in spectacular natural settings where kids experience the joy of success.  There is no other place like Camp Ocean Pines."

Camp Ocean Pines now offers 4 ways to have the greatest summer ever!

Traditional Summer Camp Weeks

Sign up for one of our traditional weeks of camp and get an adventure that can’t be found anywhere else! Our summer camp is located in Cambria, on Calfornia’s beautiful and untouched central coast. The camp is settled in a pine and oak forest overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and campers who come to Ocean Pines will get to experience both. Whether it’s adventure games in our forest or optional daily trips to kayak and surf at nearby beaches, our campers get a true nature and outdoor experience. On the camp, our activities focus on creativity and exploration. We offer over 60 activities that campers can choose from that change every day and week to week. Which means, at Camp Ocean Pines, everyday is a unique event and a chance to do something brand new. Some of the activities we offer at camp are:

  • Creation activities like fusing glass, exploding tie-dye, or camper musicals
  •  Imagination activities that get the whole camp involved! Find the treasure on Pirate Mystery Night, or escape the predators of Nocturnal Avengers
  • Exploration activities like kayaking, surfing, hiking, and so much more!

Campout Weeks

We believe every child should have the chance to sleep under the stars, get a little dirty, and experience nature in a real way. Every other week of summer is a week-long campout where we take our summer camp out of the cabins and into California’s most beautiful places. On these campouts kids get the full camping experience, setting up a tent, cooking over a fire, and seeing what the stars look like away from the city are just a few of the best parts. This year our campouts are:

  • Big Sur – Exploring redwood forests and ocean bluffs on California’s amazing northern coastJump Rope
  • Morro Bay – Kayaking, surfing, and hiking near peaceful and scenic Morro Bay
  • Yosemite – Waterfalls, glacier carved mountains, and the world’s largest trees is just the beginning

Just bring the sleeping bag and pillow, we'll provide the campout of a lifetime!

Teen Backpacking Trips

The goal of the backpacking portion of Camp Ocean Pines Summer Camp is to further develop your child’s strength and confidence by safely traveling across challenging and beautiful terrain with a team of their peers.  Your child will return home with a sense of accomplishment and a greater understanding of their own abilities mentally, physically and socially.  We are not a wilderness therapy program, we are interested in helping students with an already strong foundation continue to grow into strong individuals.

"Camp Life is the Life for Me"

- Article by Summer Camp Director Scott Hicok

Summer has settled into a fond memory here at Camp Ocean Pines. As I sit he in the office, I can still hear the sounds of laughter, see visions of tie-dye shirts, and occasionally a walk through the forest make me feel the need to duck and avoid flying dodge balls. I still always have an extra band-aid in my wallet; that is after all why they call me Doc.

Heading into my fourth year here at camp I can safely say that this summer was the best one yet... [more...]

Beautiful Cabins!
