Campers are divided into cabins that become families during their time at camp.

They Will Stay In Our Beautiful Cabins!

Our Off-site Camp Outs

Outdoor Skills
During these weeks kids will stay in tents learning leave no trace principles.  They will have fun hiking, swimming and other unique activities that differ from a week on-site.

Transportation Info for Parents

Camp Ocean Pines takes kids all over the place!  First of all, the Camp director or designated senior staff member will pick up students at the airport in one of the camp cars, complying with airport policy regarding pick-up and drop-off of unaccompanied minors.

When we travel off-site we communicate our plans to parents through email and phone conversations with you, and on a form handed out during the registration process.  We use rented 15 passenger vans or chartered school or commercial buses.  Qualified drivers with the appropriate licenses operate these vans and buses.  The vehicles are kept in good mechanical condition and given a daily safety inspection.  Students are required to wear seatbelts, remain seated, keep hands inside the windows, and behave appropriately so as not to distract the driver.  All parents are given a weekly itinerary and the pick up / drop off details.

If there are any significant changes that effect transportation, the office personnel will call you to communicate those changes. If the changes are major, Camp Ocean Pines uses “Call-Em-All,” an automated calling service that sends instant bulk phone messages to the list of camper parents.  This will address any major changes in arrival time or major changes to the session, like if there is a fire or other emergency.

The office keeps your emergency contact numbers from the health forms.  A copy of those forms goes on every off-site trip in the hot little hands of the Trip Leader.  Our great office personnel are the liaison between camp staff and parents regarding transportation changes, accidents, or delays.

We are ACA Accredited

Camp Ocean Pines is accredited by the American Camp Association, and we maintain a low (1:4) staff-to-camper ratio.  Leadership is Staff 09provided by Scott Hicok, the Summer Camp Director.  Our Summer Camp staff is experienced, highly-trained, and a fun and caring group!

When Does Camp Begin and End?

Camps begin each Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. and end at 12 p.m. Friday afternoon.  Students may sign up for a one-week session or multiple weeks. Students attending consecutive weeks can participate in our weekend camps for only $50.  We also offer free pick up and return from the San Luis Obispo Airport (San Luis Obispo SBP) and train station.
