This 1-day watercolor workshop will introduce beginners to the beautiful and versatile medium of watercolor painting. The serene setting of Camp Ocean Pines in Cambria provides the perfect environment for artistic exploration and creative expression in a relaxed, small group setting. “Hi, my name is Jay Stieler, principal artist and founder of Coast Art House. I’ve been fortunate to call California’s Central Coast home for most of my life, where its wild beauty inevitably fuels creativity. While I have explored various mediums, watercolor is my true passion, with its spontaneity turning each painting into an exciting adventure. The unexpected results give each piece a unique story.
I’m an active member of The Central Coast Watercolor Society, The Artist Collective Painter’s Group, and The Morro Bay Art Association. My work is displayed in local galleries and has won awards and been juried into prominent local shows like Aquarius and Beacon on multiple occasions.

This workshop will take place at Camp Ocean Pines with a mixture of inside and outside instruction. We recommend wearing layers, bringing sun protection, and sturdy shoes.
Workshop rate:
$125 - This includes all instruction, materials and a lunch provided by Camp Ocean Pines.
A non-refundable deposit of $75 is required and the balance is due at least 30 days (09/05/2025) prior to the workshop. No refunds are available after that date.
